The collection consists of material concerning the Woodbury and Clapp families. Topics include religious sentiment, family events, Levi Woodbury as a presidential candidate, and Montgomery Blair. There are also some notes and drawings, 1870, regarding the origins of an earthwork fortification three miles from Alfreton, Derby, England and a record of a meeting of the freeholders of Tibshelf, Derby Co., England regarding the enclosing of the common. In addition there are copies of a letter, 1888 June 14, Jefferson Davis to Ellen P. deQ. Woodbury, a letter, 1789 May 9, George Washington to John Hancock, and a letter, 1845 September 20, James K. Polk to Levi Woodbury, along with copies of Pace's correspondence with the Davis and Washington editorial projects.
